MANHATTAN — Psychedelic pop group MGMT will bring their “electric feel” to the Upper East Side this fall with a two-night stint at the Guggenheim Museum.
The electronic rock band, led by musicians Ben Goldwasser and Andrew VanWyngarden, is scheduled to deliver a “unique musical performance” at the 2011 Guggenheim International Gala fundraiser on Thursday, Nov. 10, according to an announcement on the museum’s website.
MGMT will remain in the fine art world the next night as well with a public performance at the museum, the announcement said.
The gala will celebrate an exhibit by Italian-born artist Maurizio Cattelan, which is set to open on Nov. 4.
Tickets to the shows, which were first revealed on Wednesday’s "Late Night with Jimmy Fallon," will be available to Guggenheim members on Oct. 13 and to the public on Oct. 14.
