HELL'S KITCHEN — The Bluth family is coming to New York.
In an event that's certain to be filled with terrible chicken dances and shouts of "Come On!," the cast of cult favorite TV show "Arrested Development" will reunite at the New Yorker Festival on Oct. 2nd. The Bluth family reunion is happening at SIR Stage37 at 508 W. 37th St.
The reunion features nearly all of the show's original cast members, including Jason Bateman, Will Arnett, Michael Cera, and Portia de Rossi. They'll be joined by series creator Mitchell Hurwitz. Actor/director Ron Howard, who voiced the show's iconic narrator, won't be present. The cast will be interviewed by TV critic Nancy Franklin.
"Arrested Development," which originally ran on Fox between 2003 and 2006, was praised by critics, but did poorly in the ratings. The show chronicled the often-ridiculous Bluths — a wealthy family who lost everything, and starred Bateman as the straight-man son who had no choice but to keep them all together.
Fans say that Fox made a huge mistake when they cancelled the show in 2006, and "Arrested Development" has seen strong DVD sales ever since.
Both fans, the cast, and Hurwitz have fueled swirling rumors of an movie based on the show for years, though no one has confirmed its production.
This year's New Yorker Festival kicks off on Sept. 30th and features events as diverse as the contents of the magazine. Aside from the Bluth Family, other highlights include discussions with Richard Dawkins, comedian Amy Poehler, and House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi.
Tickets are already on sale, and many events are sold out.
And in keeping with the Bluth family's tendency to arrive a little late to the party, tickets for the Bluth Family Reunion won't go on sale until noon on Wednesday Sept. 21.
