MANHATTAN — The Meatpacking District will soon have one more reason for women to risk getting their stilettos stuck between the cobblestones.

Designer Zac Posen, a celebrity favorite who's known for his body-flattering dresses, will soon set up shop on Washington Street, he said on Twitter.

"Save-the-Date for the Z Spoke store opening on Aug 25th! 874 Washington St. in NYC," a tweet to Posen's Twitter account said.

The store, which is currently occupied by Scoop Beach, will be the first for Posen's Z Spoke line, a lower-priced collection with t-shirts starting at $78, Women's Wear Daily reported. Items from the Zac Posen collection range from $900 to $12,000, according to WWD

Posen recently sold his wares at far lower prices in a popular limited-edition line for Target. Garments in that line began at $16.99.

A February 2010 New York Times story called Posen "a showman trying to project a sense of grandness, when what he was good at was making wearable bias-cut dresses with kicky insets that were flattering to many body types."

He launched his first line at age 21 and found quick success.
