MANHATTAN — Attention musicians and music nerds!
The massive CMJ Music Marathon and Film Festival has announced the lineup of part of its annual Greenwich Village-headquartered city takeover.
The group named the first round of popular panel discussions last week that critics, musicians and industry folks will hold at NYU.
The offerings, which focus on how performers can survive in an Internet-transformed field, include "There's a Shark in the Pool: Who's Surviving in the Music Industry," "How to Launch a Music Start-Up" and "Be Your Own Label." The talks will be held at NYU's Kimmel Center, at 60 Washington Square South.
As usual, admission prices to the five-day festival are steep, at $455 for a full badge, $265 for a full student badge and $149 for a show pass, a new option that allows access to concerts and film screenings but not panels, parties and other events.

At last year's festival, more than 120,000 fans attended 1,300 performances at 80 venues. This year's music schedule has not been announced.
