Fire Breaks Out in West 23rd Street Building

CHELSEA — A fire erupted in a Chelsea building Saturday morning, fire officials said.

The blaze at 267 W. 23rd St., near Eighth Avenue, broke out at 8:45 a.m., according to the FDNY.

Firefighters battled the flames for about a 45 minutes before the incident was brought under control.

There were no reports of evacuations or injuries and the cause of the fire was not immediately clear.
