MANHATTAN — With the controversial and long-delayed Nolitan Hotel opening in weeks, another inn is reportedly in the works for NoLIta.

Curbed reported that the yet-to-be named hotel is slated to move into 197 Mott St., between Spring and Kenmare streets. Demolition of the two-story building currently standing on the property, which once housed the T-Bone supermarket, is already under way, according to the real estate website.

Paperwork recently filed with the Department of Buildings for the new hotel reveals the proposed structure will be eight stories and 36,000 square feet.

However, Curbed is also reporting the building will contain a mezzanine level, which mirrors the design that caused trouble with locals for the soon-to-be-opened Nolitan. The hotel, which will open for business on Aug. 1, was accused by locals of treating its mezzanine level as another floor, bringing the building to nine stories and breaking the eight-story height restriction of the Special Little Italy District.

The as-yet-unnamed hotel is reportedly a new venture for Michael Namer and the Alfa Development team, who purchased the lot for $9 million at the end of 2010. The team also created the eco-friendly condo set Village Green on East 11th Street.
