WASHINGTON HEIGHTS — Pack your blankets and bring your popcorn — free movie nights are coming to Washington Heights.
J Hood Wright Park at 174th Street and Fort Washington Avenue is hosting a summer outdoor movie festival, kicking off July 28th with a screening of the 1985 adventure flick "The Goonies" at 8:15 p.m.
The three-film series continues July 30 with a screening of the 2010 animated film "Despicable Me" at 8:15 p.m., followed by the 1982 classic "E.T." on Aug. 20 at 8:15 p.m.
The park is also hosting two nature adventures for kids, with a ladybugs nature adventure led by educator and mom, Julia Attaway, on July 30 at noon. Attaway is also leading a program on "wriggly, squiggly worms!" at noon on Aug. 13 at J Hood. The nature programs are open to kids between the ages of 4 and 6 years old.
