MIDTOWN — A woman was critically injured after a hit-and-run crash in Midtown early Saturday morning, authorities said.

The 23-year-old victim was struck by a Honda Pilot driven by her boyfriend in front of 29 W. 46th St., near Fifth Avenue, just after 3 a.m., sources said.

"I looked down [from my apartment] and there was a young woman on the ground," said a witness, Gail, 45, who did not want to give her last name.

"I thought she might have been dead, but I did see her hand move."

The witness said that the scene was littered with glass and that cops were questioning a group of people.

Responding rescue workers found the victim with head trauma. She was rushed to Bellevue Hospital in critical condition.

Just after 8 a.m., the car was discovered in Washington Heights after the 28-year-old driver crashed on the Harlem River Drive near 177th Street.

The driver was in critical condition at Harlem Hospital.

It was not immediately clear if there was criminality in the incident, police said.

Sources said that investigators were reviewing surveillance tape to see if the woman had jumped onto the car or if she was intentionally struck.
