MANHATTAN — An aspiring rapper was killed and another man injured Wednesday afternoon in a shooting at an East Harlem housing project, officials said.
The gunplay unfolded at at 12:20 p.m. in front of 111 E. 128th Street at the Jackie Robinson Houses.
Cops said that LaQuan Parks, 28, whose stage name was "Quan Bash" or "QB," was shot in the head and taken to Harlem Hospital, where he died.
"He was a sweet kid, loved by everyone," said the victim's aunt, who did not want to give her name.
Parks' uncle, Troy Parks, 48, was working at the housing complex across the street when a friend ran into the building and told him there was a shooting.
Troy bolted outside and found his nephew slumped over in a chair in front of the entrance to the Jackie Robinson Houses on 128th.
"There was a pool of blood," he said.
Another aunt arrived at the scene crying and shouting, "Why? I want to see him."
Devastated family and friends said Parks, who loved to joke around, knew Tysha Jones, the tragic teen who was shot to death in Brighton Beach, Brooklyn last month. She grew up nearby.
A 35-year-old man was shot in the thigh and also taken to Harlem Hospital.
"I'm tired of this," said Iesha Sekou, the executive director of an anti-violence organization, Street Corner Resources. "This is becoming like a video game. It's shoot to kill."
The motive for the shooting was not immediately clear and cops could not say whether Parks was the intended target.
No arrests have been made.
