MANHATTAN - An elderly woman was robbed by a gentlemanly mugger in Union Square last week moments after she withdrew cash from an ATM, cops said.
The tattooed thief held the door for the 73-year-old victim at the Apple Bank at 4 Irving Pl., near East 14th Street on Wednesday at 8:30 p.m. and watched her make a withdrawal.
He then grabbed her from behind, snatched her money - $200 - and fled, according to police.
The victim was not injured.
Police say the suspect was last seen wearing a camouflage hat, white tank top and jeans. He used a yellow rope as a belt.
