LOWER EAST SIDE — Police are questioning several people in connection to the fatal shooting of a Brooklyn man on Pitt Street early Tuesday, law enforcement sources said.

Jonathon Alston, 23, of Red Hook, was found outside a pizzeria at 85 Pitt St. near Rivington Street, with a gunshot wound to the head about 12:30 a.m. Tuesday, the NYPD said.

Police found drugs on the victim, including bags of crack cocaine, following the shooting, sources said.

Witnesses described hearing multiple gunshots and ducking for cover at the time of the incident.

Police ruled the shooting a homicide, but no arrests had been made as of Tuesday afternoon and the investigation is ongoing, the NYPD said.

A man was stabbed to death at a halfway house on Stanton Street last month just around the corner from where the shooting occurred.

Last October, three people were shot and wounded on Stanton Street a couple blocks away.
