Dine Around Downtown Festival Returns With 50 Restaurants

FINANCIAL DISTRICT — Dine Around Downtown is back, after taking last year off because of construction.

The food festival features 50 Financial District restaurants dishing out samples of their signature cuisine for just $3 to $7 apiece. Battery Gardens will serve jumbo crabcakes, Bobby Van's Steakhouse will offer a sautéed filet mignon sandwich and Financier Patisserie will provide mango blueberry crumb cake and banana milk chocolate cake.

"Lower Manhattan has a red-hot culinary scene, and we’re thrilled — once again — to offer workers, residents and visitors this opportunity to sample the creations of our most exciting chefs and restaurants," Liz Berger, president of the Downtown Alliance, said in a statement.

The lunchtime event at Chase Manhattan Plaza was canceled last year because of construction work there, but that's finished and there is plenty of room for the restaurants' booths and the live Jazz Museum AllStars performance.

Other participating restaurants include Delmonico’s Steakhouse, The Capital Grille, Stone Street Tavern, Les Halles Downtown and Harry’s Italian.

Stephen Asprinio, who recently appeared on "Top Chef," will also make an appearance.

Dine Around Downtown will be held June 14 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Chase Manhattan Plaza, between Nassau, William, Liberty and Pine streets.
