CENTRAL PARK — The show must not go on.
The New York Philharmonic announced it is canceling its free summer concerts in parks across the city, including Central Park, this season, New York 1 reported.
The cancellation is reportedly due to an unusually high number of events for the September. A spokesperson for the orchestra told the Daily News their musicians need to take vacation time in July.
The philharmonic said it expects that the concerts will return next summer.
This will be the first time in more than 30 years the group does not perform in a free July concert in the park.
