WASHINGTON HEIGHTS — Police arrested a woman Monday after she allegedly stabbed a man in the leg outside the St. Rose of Lima Church Rectory in Washington Heights, they said.

The unidentified man was taken to the hospital in stable condition. The woman was arrested at the scene on West 165th Street, between Audubon and Amsterdam Avenues, an NYPD official said.

There were no parishoners in the church at the time of the incident shortly after 6 a.m., a rectory worker said Monday morning.

The church is next to the Metropolitan Center for Mental Health on West 165th Street.
