MANHATTAN — Fake ivy planted onto the facades of two Greenwich village buildings is still flourishing, a year after owners were told to take it down.

The Greenwich Village Society for Historic Preservation said the buildings, at 47 West 8th St. and 62 West 9th St., are covered in the bright green plastic plant.

"We wish we could say we digitally enhanced the color of the plastic ivy," a post on the GVSHP’s blog Off the Grid said.

"In sunlight, it actually does shine this bright."

Because both buildings are within the historic district, any changes to their facades need permits from the Landmarks Preservation Commission – who ordered the owners to take it down a year ago.

47 West 8th Street is currently occupied by The State Room bar. No one was available to comment Tuesday afternoon.

Attempts to find the owner of 62 West 9th St. were unsuccessful.
