MANHATTAN — Jets receiver Braylon Edwards intends to go to trial to fight DWI charges, according to the New York Post.

The NFL wideout’s attorney, Peter Frankel, said he intends to challenge the accusations.

"We don't believe that the breath test gave an accurate indication of how much he had to drink that night," Frankel told the Post after a pretrial hearing Monday.

Edwards was not present in court because his flight from Los Angeles had been canceled, Frankel said.

Edwards was pulled over in Chelsea early Sept. 21, 2010, because his SUV’s windows were deemed too dark.

Tests showed his blood-alcohol level was twice the legal limit, prosecutors have said.

If found guilty he faces up to a year in jail.
