UPPER EAST SIDE —An art-packed hike up Madison Avenue is helping to fund programs for budding artists in the city's public schools.

The fourth Annual Madison Avenue Gallery Walk is opening up more than 30 Upper East Side galleries, complete with a series of "Madison Avenue Art Talks" from curators and artists.

Galleries taking part include Aquavella, Gagosian, Hauser & Wirth, L&M and Michelle Rosenfeld & Skarstedt. Cash raised will go to The Fund for Publi Schools, a non-profit supporting arts education.

"The Madison Avenue Gallery Walk is a testament to how the entire community can play a vital role in our effort to provide a rich and meaningful arts education for public school students," said Caroline Kennedy, vice chair of the fund, in a statement.

The walk occurs on May 7th and is free and open to the public. Patrons can "curate" their own walk by pre-registering online, and choose to donate to the Fund during registration.

The Madison Avenue Gallery Walk is hosted by the Madison Avenue Business Improvement District.

The Madison Avenue Gallery Walk will take place Saturday, May 7 between 57th and 86th Streets and on adjacent side streets, with most programming taking place during normal gallery hours of 11 a.m. and 6 p.m. Visit the walk's website for more information.
