EAST VILLAGE — Police are searching for a pair of men they believe assaulted food deliverymen and then stole their cash inside an Avenue D housing complex.

On March 29 about 11:15 p.m., the attackers allegedly approached a 22-year-old man delivering food on the 13th floor of the Jacob Riis Houses at 108 Avenue D, punched him in the face and threw him to the ground before stealing an unknown amount of cash and fleeing, police said.

On April 7 about 10:10 p.m., the attackers allegedly approached a 28-year-old deliveryman and a 61-year-old deliveryman in the same location, forcing them into a stairwell and punching the first man in the face before stealing cash from both individuals, police said.

In both attacks, the victims sustained lacerations to their faces, police added.

The first suspect is described as between 20 and 25 years old, standing between 6-foot-2 and 6-foot-3, and weighing between 250 and 300 pounds, police said.

The second suspect is described as between 20 and 25 years old, standing 5-foot-11 and weighing 170 pounds, police said.
