MANHATTAN — As an undercover drug investigation went south, federal agents opened fire on a suspect outside a Hell's Kitchen McDonald's Friday night, according to reports.

U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents staking out the parking lot of the 10th Avenue and 34th Street restaurant were attempting to arrest a suspect when a second man barreled away in a silver Chevy Tahoe, the Daily News reported.

As he hopped the curb onto 10th Avenue, witnesses told the News, law enforcement officers fired three bullets.

The shots shattered the windows of the SUV, according to the Post, but the suspect managed to drive to 39th and Ninth Avenue before escaping on foot. ICE agents recovered $100,000 in cash from one of the suspect's cars, the Post reported.

Blood spots found on the sidewalk indicate the suspect might have been shot, the Post reported.

"I felt like I was back in Vietnam," witness Norman McAleney told the Post. "I thought, 'Oh no, not again!'"

Another witness, Tara Losurdo, 22, told the News that she hid behind two parked cabs during the shootout.

Tourist Dan Marobella, 25, told the News that the incident would deter him from visiting Manhattan again.

"I hate it here," he said.
