Armed Robber Raids Fifth Ave. Jewelry Store

MANHATTAN — Police are searching for an armed man who was caught on tape robbing a Zales Jewelry store in Midtown.

The man entered the store about 7 p.m. on Friday, March 11, with a black revolver, according to the NYPD.

Wearing a black trench coat and a scarf around his face, he fled the store, located at 417 Fifth Ave., with unknown amounts of jewelry and cash, police said.

The robber is described at 6-feet-1-inch-tall and between 170 and 180 lbs. He was last seen wearing a trench coat, blue sweatshirt, black gloves, black hood, boots and a light scarf over his face.
