Lower East Side Art Galleries, Museum Announce 'Third Thursdays'

LOWER EAST SIDE — Lower East Side art lovers, rejoice.

Thirty Lower East Side art galleries will extend their hours through 9 p.m. every third Thursday of the month starting March 17.

The "Third Thursdays" gallery night was announced by the Lower East Side Business Improvement District to highlight emerging artists.

In addition to the extended hours, some museums will host special events, and the New Museum will offer free admission from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. on those Thursdays.

Participating galleries include the Jen Bekman gallery at 6 Spring St., Mark Miller Gallery at 92 Orchard St., and the Rooster Gallery at 190 Orchard St..

The dates for "Third Thursdays" are: March 17, April 21, May 19, June 16, July 21, September 15, and October 20.
