GREENWICH VILLAGE — Police have linked three suspects wanted in Greenwich Village apartment robbery last week to a string of burglaries in the Bronx.

In the Feb. 16 Greenwich Village robbery, a man posing as a plumber allegedly distracted an 80-year-old woman at her Barrow Street apartment while his two accomplices broke into her home and stole jewelry from her bedroom, police said.

The woman was not hurt in the incident.

On Wednesday, the NYPD said they believe the three suspects were also responsible for five burglaries in the Bronx ranging from December of last year through Feb. 7.

In the Bronx, police said the men allegedly impersonated officials with the water department in order to gain access to elderly victims homes.

All three suspects were described as white or hispanic men of medium build in their mid to late thirties.

The NYPD asks anyone with information on the burglary to contact Crime Stoppers at 1-800-577-8477.
