GOVERNORS ISLAND — A new music festival billed as the summer’s biggest dance party is coming to Governors Island this June, organizers announced this week.
The 12-hour lineup at the Governors Ball Music Festival June 18 includes Girl Talk, Pretty Lights, Empire of the Sun, Big Boi from Outkast, Passion Pit and more. The festival will have two stages and no overlapping acts, so concertgoers will be able to see every single performance of the electronic, dance, hip-hop and indie artists.
"The event will be one big dance party, so bring your foot spray — it will get funky," the festival’s website promises.
Comedians will perform in between the sets, and those who want a break from the music will also be able to check out interactive art installations, games and activities and some of the city’s most popular food trucks.
Tickets start at $75 and will go on sale Feb. 24 at 10 a.m.
