Police Hunt Two Suspects in East Village Burglary

MANHATTAN — Police are hunting for two men they believe stole a laptop computer, jewelry and credit cards from a home in the East Village.

The suspects entered the first floor apartment at 127 East 7th St. about 11:30 p.m. on Jan. 5, according to NYPD. A 79-year-old woman who lived in the apartment began to scream, and the thieves fled to the building's ground floor apartment. They took the computer and other goods from that apartment and then left.

Both suspects were described by police as Hispanic males between the ages of 25 and 35. One suspect wore a brown, waist-length jacket, blue jeans, white sneakers, and a multi-colored hat.

The second suspect wore a black jacket, blue jeans and a black knit cap, police said.
