CHELSEA — A Grimaldi's outpost will finally open its doors at Limelight Marketplace this month, ending a nearly year-long wait for pizza fanatics in Chelsea.

Manager Gina Peluso said Wednesday that she hopes to open on Monday, Jan. 24, but said there was a chance the debut could be pushed back another week. The restaurant had been originally slated to open in April 2010, but the opening was repeatedly delayed because of construction issues.

When Grimaldi's does serve up its first pizza inside the church-turned-nightclub-turned-mall, it will offer nearly the same menu as in Brooklyn, Peluso said. Dessert, however, will probably not be on the menu, she said.

Limelight Marketplace is located at the intersection of West 20th St. and Sixth Avenue.
