MANHATTAN — A convicted shoplifter with a penchant for high-end furs has been busted by police once again after trying to steal a mink coat from a Manhattan boutique last week, according to the New York Post.

Johnnie Taylor, 50, has been in and out of prison since 1987 for swiping thousands of dollars worth of fur coats and other high-end clothes from stores around the city, including Saks Fifth Avenue and Barneys, the paper reported.

In her most recent heist, Taylor allegedly tried to make off with an $8,000 mink coat from Northern Furs Fashion in the Garment District on Jan. 7, police told the Post.

But the storeowner recognized her because she had previously stolen $25,000 worth of furs from the same shop in September, according to the paper.

Taylor’s M.O. seems to be to hide the pilfered goods under her clothes by stuffing them in hidden bags or even her girdle, police told the Post.

She was charged with robbery and criminal possession of stolen property, the paper reported.
