MIDTOWN WEST — An armed man attempted to rob a midtown Citibank branch on Monday evening, but fled the bank without any cash, according to police.
The would-be robber entered the Citibank branch at 201 West 34th Street at Seventh Avenue about 6:24 p.m. on Monday. He approached a bank teller, flashed his gun and passed a note to the teller demanding cash.
The man ended up fleeing the bank without any money and without causing any injuries, though it was unclear whether the teller refused to give him cash or if he simply got cold feet, according to the NYPD.
