Harlem Teen Gunned Down on Bronx Subway Platform

MANHATTAN — Police are looking for suspects in the murder of a Harlem teen gunned down on a Bronx subway platform early Sunday morning.

Lewis Hawkins, 17, was shot in the chest at roughly 1:24 a.m. on the southbound elevated 2 train platform at West Farms Square / East Tremont Avenue station, police said.

Hawkins was taken to St. Barnabas Hospital, where he was pronounced dead, police said.

As many as 12 men who were at the station were taken into custody, the Daily News reported.

No arrests had been made as of Sunday afternoon, police said.

The investigation is ongoing.
