EAST VILLAGE — Music legends Duran Duran will stop by the First Avenue storefront studio of East Village Radio Friday night to debut exclusive songs off their forthcoming album.

Members of the Grammy Award-winning band Simon Le Bon and Nick Rhodes will appear on the 8 p.m. show hosted by DJ/producer Mark Ronson, a rep for the station said. Ronson produced Duran Duran's latest offering All You Need Is Now, a nine-track digital album set for release on Dec. 21.

The band dropped the album's lead single online Wednesday, but will give fans a special treat by unveiling brand-new songs and sitting down for an interview with Ronson at the station, near East 1st Street.

East Village Radio general manager Peter Ferraro said the station's wesbite and Twitter feed have been buzzing with activity since the surprise announcement, meaning fans will likely gather outside to get a glimpse of the group.

"We are expecting some people to be out there," he said, adding the station has been flooded with calls and e-mails about the appearance. "I don't know how much people will be able to deal with this cold weather we're having, but we've seen it before."

Duran Duran's new album marks the 13th studio release for the band, which formed in England in the late 1970s and has sold tens of million of records since.

Founded in 2003, East Village Radio is a free online station featuring a rotating selection of music from dozens DJs and hosts each day.

Ronson, a Grammy Award winner himself, released his third studio album in September.
