MANHATTAN — A Manhattan beauty queen let her tiara go to her head last week, when she decided to sneak onto a Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade float, the New York Post reported.

Davina Reeves, who won the Miss New York title last fall, was eventually escorted off the parade route by police, having talked her way onto the float, which was meant to carry Miss USA Rima Fakih, according to the Post.

Handlers for Fikih, the Michigan beauty queen who beat out Reeves for the national title last May, were behind the ouster, Reeves told the paper.

"Someone asked me to take off my crown, because Miss USA wasn't wearing her crown," Reeves reportedly explained, adding that she complied with the request.

But neither Fikih’s entourage nor parade organizers were satisfied by the concession, and a Macy’s representative eventually saw to it that she leave the parade, Reeves said, according to the paper.

Still, the hometown pageant winner, who was replaced during the annual Miss New York competition over the weekend, said she stood by her decision to crash the holiday event.

"It was the most daredevil thing I ever did," Reeves told the Post. "This title is about growing, about being courageous and fearless."
