ROCKEFELLER PLAZA — Actress Blake Lively brought some star power to Midtown Thursday — a star made 25,000 Swarovski crystals that will sit atop the Rockefeller Center Christmas tree for the holiday season.

After an introduction by the "Gossip Girl" actress, the Swarovski star was raised by a crane to the top of the 74-foot tall Rockefeller Center Norway Spruce Christmas tree outside of 30 Rockefeller Plaza on Thursday morning.

"I'm so excited that I could be a part of this today," Lively said.

"Every year I come with my nieces and nephews and we look at the tree, but I never thought I would be here unveiling the star."

Lively dressed appropriately for the occasion in a Swarovski crystal-adorned blazer.

"When I was growing up, my family would come to New York every year to see the tree," the California native said.

The 12-pointed star is outfitted with 720 LED bulbs on 3,000 feet of wire to create a twinkling effect at the top of the tree. This is the seventh consecutive year that a Swarovski star has adorned the world-famous tree.

This year’s 75-year-old tree came from the upstate New York home of New York City firefighter Peter Acton, 38, who served as a first responder in the 9/11 terrorist attacks. It was raised at Rockefeller Center last Friday morning.
