EAST HARLEM — The mother of a young woman who was stabbed last Friday in East Harlem claims her daughter's attacker is still at large and is stalking her on Facebook.
Shele Wilkins, 18, was stabbed multiple times at the River Crossing apartments, on First Avenue, last week. Several members of her family and witnesses claim her boyfriend was behind the attack, and is now trying to contact Wilkins, who is recovering from stab wounds to her face and body.
"He’s been contacting her on Facebook," said Wilkins' mom Glenda Mabry, 44. "She’s got like six messages from him."
"She has a lot of nightmares. She can’t sleep."
Mabry said the boyfriend also called Wilkins several times Tuesday morning and asked her to meet up with him.
DNAinfo is not naming the boyfriend because police have not officially named him as a suspect. A police spokesman said the NYPD was still investigating.
Mabry said she was worried for her daughter’s safety with the attacker still on the loose.
"They said he just vanished," Wilkins said, referring to police. "They just told me I have to sit and wait."
