MANHATTAN — Could the stars of "Gossip Girl" be done with the Upper East Side?
Actor Penn Badgley said he was bored with the show after reports this summer that his co-star and girlfriend Blake Lively had asked for her character to be killed off, the New York Post reported.
"It is what it is," the normally gregarious Badgely told Page Six. "It's become routine."
Badgely plays Dan Humphrey, the Brooklyn outcast turned rich, popular kid on the show. But since Gossip Girl has debuted, he's branched out to movie roles in addition to the show.
He also said, despite his chummy appearance with co-star Jessica Szhor on camera, he doesn't hang out with her and her off-screen boyfriend Ed Westwick off-set.
"We're not friends," he told the paper. "I mean, we don't double date."
