MANHATTAN — A taxi driver was killed while crossing a Midtown street early Tuesday morning, police said.

The deceased, identified as Chan Park, 62, of the Bronx, was struck by a Duane Reade delivery truck shortly after 2 a.m. at Eighth Avenue and West 56th Street, the NYPD said.

He was walking across the street to buy coffee at an all-night restraurant during a break when he was killed, WPIX-TV reported.

Chan may have slipped on the wet pavement after a heavy rain came through Manhattan, the TV station reported.

The driver of the Duane Reade truck stopped after running over the man, police said. Police do not suspect there was any criminality involved in the accident.

The victim was pronounced dead at the scene, after being hit by what witnesses said was a Duane Reade delivery truck.
