LOWER MANHATTAN — Construction on two major downtown projects will divert several subway lines over the next five weekends.

During all weekends in October, the 1 train will not run south of Chambers Street because of work at the World Trade Center site. Shuttle buses will replace the stops between Chambers Street and South Ferry.

Meanwhile, work on the Fulton Street Transit Center will disrupt the A/C line. For the next three weekends, the A/C will bypass the Broadway-Nassau/Fulton stop, and there will be no transfer between the 2/3 and 4/5 trains there.

On the weekend of Oct. 23-25, Brooklyn-bound A/C trains will once again bypass the Broadway-Nassau stop, while Manhattan-bound A/C trains will run along the F line from Jay St. to West 4th Street.

The changes will be in effect from midnight on Saturday to 5 a.m. Monday.
