TIMES SQUARE — After a short-lived run for mayor of New York last year, the Naked Cowboy is setting his political sights much higher — and has announced his candidacy for U.S. president in the 2012 election.
Calling himself "a testament to America's promise of individual liberty" and "an American success story" in a statement announcing his candidacy, the Naked Cowboy, whose real name is Robert Burck, told TMZ that he plans to run on a strong conservative platform of fiscal responsibility, anti-immigration, and limited government.
"Obama's going down," Burck told the website.
Burke put on a full suit and cut off his long blond locks to get serious about running for office.

"I look a lot younger and better looking with short hair, so again, I ran for the Mayor's office in my underwear and that was kind of funny and appropriate to New York, but I didn't have the level of maturity and seriousness about it to do it, so I'm going to take this to a whole new level," the Cowboy told TMZ.
"It's going to be incredible," Burck said of his bid for president.
"I'm going to blow your minds."
