MANHATTAN — A teenage motorcyclist and his passenger were killed early Sunday when the bike they were traveling on skidded out of control on the FDR Drive and smashed into a pole.

Jose Almonte-Castillo, 18, and his passenger Wasker Reynoso, 25, were pronounced dead at the scene. Both lived on West 174th Street.

"They were all about their motorcycles, that's all they did," neighbor Daisy Arias said as dozens of friends gathered at a makeshift memorial to the pair Sunday afternoon.

She said the two were best friends who were always working on the bike.

"They were nice, you can tell that by all of the people here," she said.

The accident happened just after midnight on the south bound lane, close to Broad Street.

Police do not suspect any criminality.
