UPPER EAST SIDE — They've saved the best for the fall.

The Housing Works Thrift Store at East 77th Street will roll out their best  lightly-used items from designers like Prada, Gucci and Ferragamo at their fall preview sale Sept. 14.

"We saved certain things that we think are nice enough for the event," said Eddie Williams, a manager at the store.

For an entry fee of $10, frugal fashionistas can go to the sale and snap up vintage shoes, antique furniture and deisgner cast-offs that have been discounted even further from their thrift store price.

The collection of Housing Works Thrift Shops provide living assistance to people living with AIDS.

The store saves some of its best merchandise, including antiques and high-end, designer clothing, for the preview sale.

Savvy shoppers would do well to get to the sale early to find some of the hottest items, the competition from shoppers is strong, Williams said.

"Before we open, there's a line out the door," he said.
