MANHATTAN — Two armed robbers stole $66,000 in cash and jewelry after tying up the owner of a Diamond District jewelry store and his son on Saturday, the New York Daily News reported.
The robbers, who were dressed in all black, were buzzed into the store and made off just before 2 p.m. with approximately $29,000 in cash and $37,000 in jewels, the paper reported.
The men, who were reportedly in their 20s or 30s and potentially Latino, tied the owner of Namat, Inc. and his son down with wire and phone cords at the West 47th Street location on Saturday, the News said.
One of the gunmen was heavyset, and one was thin, the paper reported. Upon entering the store, the thin man pointed a gun at the store owner’s head and ordered him to open the safe, according to the News.

The owner opened the safe and neither he nor his son was injured. The two managed to unwind themselves from the restraints and call 911 about 1:56 p.m., the paper said.
