MIDTOWN — The wax likeness of the undisputed king of Bollywood, Shah Rukh Khan,  arrived at Madame Tussauds in Times Square on Thursday.

The Indian movie star’s wax figure was welcomed to the Tussauds "Bollywood Zone," by a troupe of colorfully clad Bollywood dancers performing to music from Kahn’s latest film to be released on DVD, “My Name Is Khan.”

“I couldn’t sleep last night I was so excited,” said Mahzabin Faria, 21, from Queens. “He’s the king. He’s really everything for me.”

After the Bollywood Zone opened last year at the museum, visitors were constantly asking for a figure of Khan to be created for the New York branch, as he already has a statue in the Los Angeles and London branches.

“Based on the guest requests for Khan’s wax model, I’d say that Bollywood is hugely popular here,” said Rosemary del Prado, the museum’s director of marketing.

The statue, which took three months to construct after Khan sat for Madame Tussauds' team in London, is very realistic-looking, according to some of the actor’s biggest stateside fans.

“The model is really accurate and they’ve done an awesome job,” said Sanchari Gosh, 16, of New Jersey.

“Even the expression he’s making with his face is very much ‘him’,” she added.

The actor, known as "King Khan," has starred in more than 50 films. He was named one of Newsweek’s "50 Most Powerful People in the World" in 2008.
