MANHATTAN — The West Village digs formerly occupied by R.E.M. frontman Michael Stipe are now owned by MSNBC's Rachel Maddow, according to Curbed.
The space, which consists of two combined units at 130 Jane St., represents a major upgrade for Maddow, who last year described her New York apartment as "like 275 square feet" to Gothamist.
The Jane Street apartment, which Maddow bought with her partner, Susan Mikula, closed at $1.25 million, Curbed reported.
The property, in a prewar buidling, includes Hudson River views, exposed brick and a wood-burning fireplace, according to Corcoran.
