EAST VILLAGE — A woman died after falling 14 floors to her death from a residential building on 14th Street Wednesday night, police said.

The woman, a 46-year-old tenant of 333 E. 14th Street, was pronounced dead after falling or jumping from her 14th floor apartment about 7 p.m., police said.

The incident is being investigated as a suicide, and no criminality is suspected, police said.

"You stop to think, why didn't she call anybody?" said a resident of the building's 12th floor, who declined to give his name.
