MANHATTAN — An elderly man was seriously hurt when a hit-and-run driver plowed into him on the Upper East Side Friday.

The 85-year-old pedestrian was crossing First Avenue at 84th Street  when a gold Nissan Maxima slammed into him at 5 p.m. - and then sped off, witnesses told DNAinfo.

An NYPD spokesman said there was no additional information available on the victim’s condition or search for suspects on Saturday morning.

The man was rushed to New York Hospital, where he was in critical condition, according to the New York Post.

"There were a lot of people standing around the man's body," one witness told the Post.

"It looked like a nasty accident. He wasn't moving."
