MANHATTAN — A motorcyclist was seriously hurt and his passenger killed when a van smashed into them on an Upper West Side street Saturday night, police said.

The couple was traveling north on West End Avenue when the van hit them at West 65th Street at 10:30 p.m.

Onlookers said the motorcyclists were tossed into the air in the collision.

"The two people flew off the motorcycle into the air, and they skidded on the street when they landed," one eyewitness told DNAinfo.

Another witness told the New York Daily News that the driver of the motorcycle was distraught when he saw his female passenger lying on the ground.

"He was screaming and crying — yelling, 'No! No! No!'" a witness told the News. "She was coughing up blood, and there was blood flowing down her hair."

The 39-year-old victim, who had not been named by Sunday morning pending notification of her family, was later pronounced dead at St. Luke's-Roosevelt Hospital, police said.

A police spokesperson said no charges had been filed in the deadly crash.
