BRYANT PARK — A man is in critical condition after jumping on to the tracks of an incoming B/D train at the Bryant Park subway station Friday afternoon, police and fire officials said.

The incident occurred at about 2:30 p.m. inside the station at 42nd Street and Sixth Avenue, the FDNY said.

The train pulled into the station on top of the man, and he was removed from the tracks and brought to Bellevue Hospital in critical condition, fire officials said.

An MTA worker at the station said the train hit the man.

“The fireman came up, [and] they were all filthy,” said Mohammad Sheikh, 62, who works at a newsstand at the corner of 42nd Street and Sixth Avenue.

“They said a man had fallen onto the tracks. I asked if he was alive, and they said he was alive.”
