MIDTOWN WEST — Call it the little train station that could.

The proposed Moynihan Station in the Farely Post Office on Eight Avenue and 33rd Street will finally begin construction in October, the New York Post reported Friday.

The station, which will be named after the late Senator Daniel Patrick Moynihan, will primarily serve Amtrak but will also have a corridor connecting in to the labyrinthine Penn Station.

The station, which has a reported price tag between $1.5 and $2 billion, will create an estimated 400 jobs when it is completed in 2016.
