UPPER EAST SIDE — A two-alarm fire broke out in a pricey duplex on the 17th floor of an Upper East Side high-rise early Tuesday morning, fire officials said.

Three firefighters and two civilians suffered minor injuries as a result of the blaze, which was called in at 1:36 a.m. from 530 Park Avenue on the corner of 61st Street, fire officials said.

The flames were brought under control within an hour, but not before they spread to the second floor of the duplex apartment, the department said.

Residents of the duplex were home when the fire broke out and the building did not have to be evacuated, a building worker said.

Approximately 25 FDNY units responded to the blaze. Officials were still looking into the cause of the fire, a department spokesman said.

530 Park Avenue was purchased in 2007 for $211 million, or $1.51 million per apartment, making it one of the most expensive per-unit sales in history, according to the New York Observer.
