BRYANT PARK — Hundreds of people crowded the Bryant Park lawn during lunch hour Thursday to watch performances from the casts of several shows.
The show kicked off “Broadway in Bryant Park,” an annual event that gives New Yorkers a free sneak peak at musicals that they may not otherwise be able to see.
Thursday’s show also included songs from “Nunsense,” a musical about Hollywood nuns seeking fame on the silver screen, and “Promises, Promises,” a Neil Simon play featuring Kristin Chenoweth and Sean Hayes, “In the Heights," a musical set in Washington Heights, and “STOMP."
Next week's show includes musical numbers from "The Phantom of the Opera," "Billy Elliot" and "South Pacific."
The weekly performances will run through the summer.
