MANHATTAN — A man fell 11 floors to his death Thursday morning after trying to scale down a Harlem building into his girlfriend's apartment, the New York Daily News reported.

Steven Wright was locked out of the 13th Floor apartment on West 112th Street, when he decided to shimmy down from the roof, the paper said.

It was around 5:30 a.m. and his girlfriend, Lanecca Austin, 31, was asleep with the TV on, she told the News.

Wright was using shoelaces and a belt to inch along a pipe when he plummeted to the second-floor patio, according to the paper.

"I heard a boom!" neighbor Alexander Bridgett, 45, told the News. "And then I looked out to see a dead body."

Police were unable to confirm the incident midday Friday, though the News reported that police didn't suspect foul play.
