HARLEM - An ambulance and a city bus collided late Friday morning, injuring 21 people, according to the FDNY.

The vehicles crashed head on in the westbound lane on 125th Street at Seventh Avenue. The ambulance was responding to a call for a minor injury on Randall's Island, fire officials said.

It wasn't immediately clear how it ended up in the lane with oncoming traffic and into the path of the M100 bus. But the ambulance hit as many as two other cars, the FDNY said.

Several wintesses said they saw a Ford Explorer and a black sedan also involved in the collission.

At least nine people suffered minor injuries and at least six people had more serious injuries, fire officials said.
